Located in the luxurious, gated Windward neighborhood, a premier community in Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, Florida, this recent one-wall outdoor kitchen installation project perfectly demonstrates how smart design can elevate an outdoor living space without competing with nature.

The Design Challenge: Preserving a Picturesque View

When dealing with a backyard that overlooks a pristine golf course and lush Florida woodlands, the golden rule of design is simple: don’t block the view.

Our clients wanted a fully functional cooking area that kept the sightlines open from the patio while leaving plenty of room for a dedicated outdoor dining area. The solution? A sleek, high-efficiency one-wall outdoor kitchen strategically positioned along the side of the patio. The one-wall outdoor kitchen layout maximizes open floor space for entertaining guests while keeping the gorgeous Sarasota landscape front and center.

Premium HDPE Kitchen Cabinetry

To combat the harsh Florida sun and humidity, we utilized High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) for this one-wall outdoor kitchen.

  • The Soft-Close Advantage: All doors and drawers feature premium soft-closing hinges and drawer slides. Utilizing specialized dampers, these upgrades prevent accidental slamming and provide an added level of safety for homes with children.

Every cabinet features adjustable legs, allowing our installation team to precisely align all surfaces regardless of patio slope. Notice how perfectly the horizontal lines of the “Horizon” doors flow continuously from one end to the other:

  1. 15″ Base Cabinet: Features a convenient top drawer for quick-access items.
  2. 24″ Two-Door Sink Cabinet: Houses the plumbing neatly out of sight.
  3. 21″ Trash Pull-Out Cabinet: Strategically placed next to the sink with a top drawer for maximum efficiency.
  4. 21″ One-Door Base Cabinet: Includes a top drawer, providing excellent storage for kitchen utensils and tableware.
  5. 24″ Two-Door Grill Cabinet: Heavy-duty support built specifically for the built-in grill.
  6. 21″ One-Door Side Burner Cabinet: Safely houses the utility connections for the side burner.
  7. 21″ One-Door Base Cabinet: Additional storage with a top drawer to keep the prep area clutter-free.
  8. 3″ Refrigerator End Column: Added to the far right to provide a clean, professionally finished look flush against the outdoor appliance.
