White Outdoor Kitchen in Lakewood Ranch, FL – Project #96
Tucked neatly into the screened lanai of a home in the prestigious Country Club East community in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Project #96 proves that you don’t need sprawling square footage to create a high-end, fully functioning cooking and entertaining space.
By using an underutilized lanai corner, American Outdoor Cabinets‘ design team engineered an L-shaped white outdoor kitchen that balances sleek aesthetics, maximum storage, and built-in social seating.
The Layout: Smart Corner Space Planning
Designing within a semi-enclosed lanai requires precision.
The goal was to transform a dead corner into an efficient culinary zone without crowding the outdoor living area.
The L-shaped layout allowed us to divide the space into two primary function zones:
- The Cooking & Prep Hub: Running along the main wall, this section integrates the grill, under-mount sink, dedicated pull-out spice rack, and primary storage.
- The Social Peninsula: Extending outwards to complete the “L”, this side doubles as a casual beverage bar that accommodates seating for 2–3 guests. It neatly houses a marine-grade stainless steel refrigerator and an extra base cabinet.
To ensure flawless operation in a tight corner, we integrated a precision-engineered 3″ refrigerator end column at the turn of the peninsula. This creates the perfect door-clearance angle, allowing all adjacent cabinet doors and the appliance handle to open completely without interference.
Clean Lines with HDPE Cabinetry
For the cabinetry, the homeowners chose our high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in a bright white finish, styled with our modern “Sport” door pattern. The subtle, precisely etched rectangular grooves offer a clean, architectural look that enhances the overall minimalist outdoor kitchen aesthetic.
While American Outdoor Cabinets offers ten custom door styles—from traditional raised-panel designs to ultra-sleek flush fronts—the white “Sport” pattern brightens the covered lanai by reflecting natural Florida sunlight.

Engineering, Heat Safety & Assembly Precision
A common concern homeowners have when planning a white outdoor kitchen with synthetic materials is how the cabinetry handles heat.
How HDPE Handles High Cooking Temperatures
HDPE is a solid, non-toxic, through-color material that will never warp, rot, or fade in the sun. However, intense direct heat from a high-BTU gas grill can damage any surrounding structure if not properly insulated. To protect the cabinets:
We build every cabinet module right here in our local factory using advanced CNC technology. This automated assembly precision guarantees that every joint is square and every cabinet door aligns within fractions of a millimeter.
High-End Appliances & Countertops
To complete the seamless, modern look, we paired the bright white cabinetry with a quartz countertop featuring soft grey veining.
